Tennis: Find the Best Grand Slam Players

The definition of being 'recently active': A machine decides this based on data, not based on press releases or social media updates. When a player has been missing from the results for at year, he or she is considered 'not recently active'. Sometimes he or she just didn't qualify, so 'not recently active' does not mean 'retired'. It just means that he or she did not compete at Grand Slam level during the last 12 months.
About 1967/1968: If you choose 1967 as end or 1968 as start, we will assume that you really mean 'the end of the amateur era' or 'the start of open era'. In other words, Australian Open 1968 (happened in january 1968) is included if you choose 1967 and excluded if you choose 1968.
About age: The age of a player is calculated by the beginning of the tournament. If you see a small question mark next to an age, the players birthday occurred during the tournament and it has not yet been researched whether it happened before or after the last match in this particular case.
How points are calculated: When only men or women are selected, the appropriate WTA or ATP Grand Slam point distribution is used. The current point distribution is used all the way back to 1968. When both men and women are included, an average of the two point systems is used.
